New York House Call Physicians strive to offer quality, timely, and safe medical care both in the home and office. To ensure that New York House Call Physicians' patients--both new and established--get only the best of medical care, we have several policies in place. Our goal is reducing the rates of medical errors and improving patient health and safety. For these reasons, please note the following:
New York House Call Physicians are happy to offer medical doctor care on house calls and/or office visits; however, New York House Call Physicians cannot offer medical information or advice to new patients over the phone. If you are a new patient calling for medical care or medical advice, please schedule an office visit or appointment with New York House Call Physicians, call your family physician with medical questions, or proceed to the nearest hospital emergency room. New York House Call Physicians cannot determine whether or not you need to see a physician unless a formal doctor consultation occurs. This requires a thorough medical history, physical examination, and the appropriate diagnositc testing. If you are an established patient of New York House Call Physicians, we encourage you to call with any medical questions or concerns at any time.
New York House Call Physicians generally prescribe up to a 3 month supply of any non-controlled drug or medication per visit for patients with chronic, stable medical problems. New York House Call Physicians prescribes or dispenses no more than a 1 month supply or 60-90 tablets of controlled medications per consultation as deemed appropriate by the physician. If your medical condition is unstable (e.g. your blood pressure is high, despite your current medications; your mood is blue, despite taking your antidepressant; your Hemoglobin A1C is above 7%, despite taking your diabetes medication), New York House Call Physicians will generally advise closer physician follow-up and may prescribe less than a 3 month supply of medications.
New York House Call Physicians are pleased to offer telephone consultations to patients unable to see us for an office visit or house call. New York House Call Physicians understand that you may be busy, away on travel, or unable to see a New York House Call Physician for logistical issues. Note: no prescriptions for diagnostic tests or phone-ins for prescription medications will occur unless a telephone consultation fee is paid. After your telephone consultation, physician follow-up in the office is always advised as soon as possible and is included in your telephone consultation fee. Please note that if you cancel or postpone your scheduled and advised follow-up visit, we are pleased to reschedule within 14 days of your telephone consultation for follow-up pertaining to the initial medical issue; thereafter, New York House Call Physicians are happy to follow-up with you for an office visit or house call for any reason; however, an office visit or house call fee will be applied.
Please note a 50% cancellation fee will be applied to an appointment cancellation occuring within 24 hours of your scheduled appointment. If you cancel your appointment >24 hours before your scheduled appointment, no fee will be applied.
